13 Jul iPhone 6S: The Possibilities
As the iconic launch date for the new iPhone is nearing, rumors are starting to heat up. With Apple Watch starting to lose its spotlight, all eyes are now on the iPhone 6S. Everybody is conceptualizing different ideas for this new iPhone, and here are some of the most common things people have dreamed up for the launch of the iPhone 6S.
The Least Controversial Rumors
With Force Touch technology already used on the Apple Watch, Force Touch is very likely to be on the new iPhone of 2015. This will make all apps more useful, as it will allow an entirely new way to interact with the iPhone. Force Touch potentially could change the entire iPhone experience.
As usual with new iPhones, a camera upgrade is almost certain. According to a document leaked by an employee at Foxconn, the iPhone 6S will have a 12 megapixel camera with 4K video capabilities. This remodeling will keep Apple up to par with its competitors. On the front of the device, we will most likely be seeing a 5 megapixel camera. If these rumors end up being true, this could be one of the biggest improvements in camera quality for iPhone photography.
2 GB of RAM
The 2015 line of iPhones will most likely have a bump-up in RAM, which will make the experience of using your iPhone so much smoother. From playing games to using multiple apps in one sitting, this supposed RAM increase would delight many consumers.
Goodbye to Bendgate
One of the least surprising rumors for the iPhone 6S line is that bendgate will be fixed. Apple will most likely be using stronger materials for the next iPhone, including the aluminum used on the Apple Watch Sport supposedly. Come September, Apple will no longer be picked on for making flexible phones.
Rose Gold iPhone 6S
A rose gold color for the iPhone 6S would make a lot of sense, as it would match the gold and rose gold Apple Watch colors. Based on rendered images of what the phone could look like in rose gold, it seems to look very good alongside the other three colors.
The Controversial Rumors
Rumors of a 4-inch iPhone to go alongside a 4.7 and 5.5 inch variant have been floating around a lot. Some rumors are saying that a smaller version of the phone would be made, but still would “match” the other two phones of the lineup, using the same materials and colors. However, based on other reports and leaked images, its seems far more likely that Apple will introduce an iPhone 6C as their 4-inch phone for 2015.
Last year, the iPhone 6 had a lot of rumors of a sapphire display. However, due to production issues, the displays never hit the hands of consumers. There have been some rumors for sapphire displays in the iPhone 6S Plus, but this is not very likely to happen.
Minimum of 32 GB Storage
Many iPhone users would love to see 32 GB of storage as the base model of the iPhone 6S. However, Apple may not listen. According to images from 9to5Mac, the iPhone 6S will keep 16 GB of storage as the base model. There is still the possibility that this was just used for internal testing, and 32 GB will still be the base storage.
Dual Camera Lens
Towards the beginning of the year, there were many rumors about Apple having a dual-lens camera system, much like that of the HTC One M8. This creates 3 dimensional photos that can be looked at from different angles. Though the dual-lens camera sounds cool, it seems a lot like a novelty.
Some reports claim that Apple will completely ditch the iPhone 6S and jump straight to the iPhone 7. This would make absolutely no sense, as there seems to be a very repetitive pattern in Apple’s naming strategy (iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S). So don’t get your hopes too high about seeing an iPhone 7 in 2015.
It will be exciting to see what Apple has to offer this year for the phone market. Be sure to tell us in the comments below what you want to see most in the 2015 iPhones.
